Tim Waggoner

Most Last Minute Saves in 2015 It takes a special kind of hike leader who can and will step up to lead a hike at the last minute (24 or less hours) to prevent it from being canceled. Tim saved over a half-dozen hikes in 2015. Congratulations!

Steve Carlyle

2015 Special Events Czar Urban, mountain, long distance: each type of hike has unique challenges to make them successful. Special event hikes (usually involving camping) are frequently the most challenging. Steve is a regular participant in the Rickett's Glen trips and kept everything running smoothly last year when other hike leaders were delayed or forced to cancel. Congratulations!

Kevin Mahoney

2015 MAHG Evangelist MAHG hike leaders frequently spread the word about MAHG, but each year, one goes the extra distance and their shared passion really shows in everything they do. Kevin put together and instructs our highly regarded Hike Leader Certification classes. Congratulations!

Mike Carlson

2015 Distinguished Service MAHG carefully selects its hike leaders for their commitment, reliability, and desire to provide our members the best experiences in a safe, fun environment. When a hike leader goes above and beyond, we want to recognize them Mike put together a series of training hikes leading to a very successful 1 day hike across Maryland (HAM). Congratulations!

Attended Most Hikes in 2015 MAHG members are a special family. We take great pride in singling out the member who was the most active with us in 2015. By recognizing the hiker here, we hope to create a long-lasting record of their accomplishment and our appreciation. Congratulations!

Attended Most Hikes in 2015 One of the core parts of our hike safety protocol is the use of a sweeper. An effective sweeper can have as much impact as a hike leader, so it is important to recognize their efforts By recognizing the hiker here, we hope to create a long-lasting record of their accomplishment and our appreciation. Congratulations!

Most Improved Hiker in 2015 To allow its members to improve, MAHG maintains a balance of easy, moderate, strenuous, and very strenuous hikes. When a hiker really overcomes hurdles to reach their goals, we want everyone to know about it and share in our congratulations to them. By recognizing the hiker here, we hope to create a long-lasting record of their accomplishment and our appreciation. Congratulations!
